Powering a Cleaner Transportation Future

The Problems

Waste Biomass

Plants pull carbon from the air. Humans, animals, and insects turn plants into waste: sewage, manure, food residue, crop residue, yard & forest waste…

An uprooted forest is being burned in a construction site for the purpose of building houses with the wood that has been uprooted

Decompose or Burn

Billions of tons are landfilled or burned annually because they’re too wet, too polluted, or too difficult to dispose of sustainably. This releases harmful greenhouse gases and contaminants.

Carbon Removal

Gigaton scale carbon dioxide removal is needed annually to meet climate goals. Current processes are too expensive and have limited scale.

Fuel Demands

Billions of barrels of fossil fuel are consumed annually which creates net greenhouse gas emissions. Sustainable fuels are too expensive and there is not enough supply.

The Altsa Solution

Proprietary Catalytic Conversion

  • Virtually any biomass feedstock, including wet or woody wastes.
  • Moderate temperature ~ 200 C. Low energy expense.
  • Near 100% conversion of mass and energy.
  • Stable liquid biocrude product may be refined into sustainable fuel.

Our Mission

Altsa’s low cost process converts waste biomass into a sustainable syncrude, unlocking new fuel sources to meet growing SAF industry requirements.
